In this craft, you’ll be responsible for building and breaking down scaffolding for buildings. Scaffolding is a series of metal tubes, joints and wooden planks that provide workers stability in high up places. You’ll study the blueprints and construction plans and build scaffolding according to project needs. After the scaffold is built and the construction work is complete, these you’ll also break down the scaffolding quickly and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate skills in safe building and disassembly of scaffolding
• Inspect and select safe materials for use in building a scaffold
• Identify, recognize and demonstrate safe use of power tools and hand tools needed for the job
• Use knowledge of piping systems and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques
• Read and apply information from work orders, job orders, specifications, blueprints and other drawings
• Recognize basic blueprint terms and symbols for job application
• Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, forklifts, and company trucks
