Research & Development
Without innovation, we’d be stuck with the same-old, same-old. New discoveries require testing and refinement before they reach the marketplace. This is what Research and Development (R&D) is all about.
The research portion of R&D refers to investigating and experimenting to create a new product or improving an existing one. Development involves designing and testing the effectiveness of the new product or product improvement.
Much of the Petrochemical industry's R&D work happens in a laboratory setting. Knowledge of chemistry and lab research principles is important. If you like science and math, this type of career may be a great fit for you.
