Do you like making sure everything around you is in good working order? As a Technical Service Manager, you'll do just that in the research and development (R&D) part of your company. In this role you'll be responsible for the maintenance and operations of R&D programs in the company.

You'll also oversee technical maintenance for R&D equipment to ensure that it's in proper working order. In your role, you'll ensure that all technical work is carried out according to code and building standards. You'll also make sure certificates of insurance are correct and in place and that all work is in compliance with policies. In addition, your duties will include reviewing all plans for adding or upgrading new R&D equipment.

Your people skills will need to be top notch as you interact and coordinate with engineers, researchers, and lab technicians. As a Technical Service Manager, you'll provide leadership and management support to R&D Lab Technicians.

  • Supervise system or equipment overhauls or retrofits
