Did you enjoy lab experiments in science classes? Does the creation of creating something new appeal to you? As a Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory Technician, you'll be an important part of cutting edge research. You'll help your company create new materials or products.

A large part of your job as a R&D Lab Technician will consist of conducting a wide variety tests. You'll likely be responsible for making sure the sample, equipment, and any required chemicals are handled correctly. Proper handling is important not only for avoiding contamination of the sample, but also for safety in the lab. Your data analysis skills will be put to good use as you document detailed test results to help keep record of all new advances. Many times this requires entering data into a database or other software program. You'll also need to recognize when test results are not meeting expectations and notify your supervisor.
