  • Understand blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instructions
  • Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of sheet metal products

  • Layout, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material such as roofing panels or other sheet metal materials
  • Fasten seams or joints together various tools to assemble components into products or to repair sheet metal items.
  • Trim, file, grind, buff, or smooth surfaces or seems of assembled parts
  • Understand and follow all safety rules
