If you’re a work-with-your-hands kind of person who has great leadership skills then you’ll thrive in the position of Production Manager. In order to qualify for this job, previous hands-on experience working on the production floor is helpful. Additional education in management or technical fields can also make you stand out. Look for training courses to give your resume a boost.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance of all environmental health and safety regulations
• Facilitate employee development
• Develop annual and long-term operating budgets
• Conduct monthly analysis to ensure costs are in compliance with budgetary goals
• Direct implementation and continuous improvement of all safety standards and practices
• Coordinate production, processing, and distribution activities
• Develop quality control systems to help identify production problems
• Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations
• Prepare production reports and personnel records
