Your job will have many interesting duties. A Process Engineer looks at plant operations to identify places to improve profitability and make processes better. Teamwork is important as you partner with plant employees to to find technology gaps and improvement opportunities. You may focus in on a specific part of a process to analyze chemical interactions or equipment design to find ways to improve.

Once a problem is identified, you'll brainstorm ideas and work with a team to develop a solution. You will use process simulation models to help troubleshoot and evaluate process designs. It's important to make sure any changes meet the company's environmental, health, and safety rules.
