As a Procurement Buyer, you’ll spend your days looking for and doing business with companies that sell the raw materials and services your company needs to complete its own manufacturing processes. You’ll know which materials your company needs and how they’re used to make a product, which might require you to visit the plant. It's also your job to verify receipt of items and authorize payment.
In this role, you'll stick to a budget and do everything possible to save money. You’ll need excellent math and computer skills. The ability to communicate clearly with everyone from customers to management to suppliers and vendors is also key.
